I have been studying yoga since 2003 and teaching since 2008. I was first brought to the mat by a need to relieve stress that had accumulated during a particularly difficult few months of my life. Very quickly, I realized that practicing yoga was not only an effective way to reduce stress, but it also made my body feel strong and graceful, which led me to years of dedicated, regular practice. Over time, I discovered that yoga had affected me on a much deeper level than I ever thought possible. Yoga taught me to be in the moment, to breathe through the tough spots, to let go of what isn’t serving me, and to love and accept myself. I have studied various styles of yoga over the years, including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Anusara, Yin, and Restorative. In 2008, I completed a 200-hour teacher training with YogaWorks in San Francisco, under the guidance of Nikki Estrada. My objective as a yoga instructor is to create a safe and comfortable environment for students to experience the benefits of an intelligent, balanced yoga practice. I believe in skillful alignment, thoughtful sequencing, expansive breathing, and yoga as a way of life.
