Hi! I am a certified yoga instructor and licensed marriage and family therapist. I have a private practice in center city, Philadelphia providing mental health counseling for individuals, couples, and families. I also provide private yoga instruction, trauma-sensitive yoga, and combing mindfulness/meditative techniques with psychotherapy for a holistic healing experience. I believe that we must heal from within in order to improve the outside world.
I received a 200-HR yoga certification in May, 2014 in Bali, Indonesia with Sadhana Yoga School. Yoga to me is an opportunity to center and deeply understand the self and spirit. It provides balance, wellness, and calm. I personally practice yoga and meditation in order to gain enlightenment and to feel loved.
The trauma-sensitive yoga that I teach is designed specifically for those that have lost control over their thoughts, feelings and actions. Traumatic experiences usually result in a deep sense of fear that is often hidden and debilitating. I help those suffering feel more at peace and in control of their traumatic triggers and ultimately, themselves. Trauma-sensitive yoga is gentle in approach and offers a new way of conquering fears and understanding your body again.
I will admit, I am still on my journey of true enlightenment and often struggle with fears and egos. I am relatable and understanding.
