Twisted Kids Yoga™ is the vision of Lindsay Lucarelli - mother, yoga practitioner, and avid indoor cycling and general group fitness instructor. A former consumer goods executive, Lindsay leveraged child/parent yoga concepts and play to enhance her bond to her young sons - overcoming weekly periods of separation due to global travel demands. When Lindsay and her husband faced the possibility that their youngest son may never hear without surgical implants, they relied upon the language of yoga to continue playing, nurturing, and exploring as a family during a silent time.
Managing the health diagnostics for her youngest son with a variety of pediatric health professionals and early childhood development experts, Lindsay was inspired by the 'science' of children's brains and emotions. Lindsay navigated through her son's treatment plans - learning, adopting, practicing, and eventually expanding her own education with ChildLight Yoga and other children's yoga programs and pioneers to infuse her passion for movement and love of children. Lindsay wanted to work with children and families to teach them the language of yoga as they cope through their own versions of daily stresses.
Twisted Kids Yoga is the only child-centric yoga organization in Central Massachusetts. Lindsay continuously studies methods from global child yoga programs and industry mentors to create engaging classes that offer fun-loving, cherished yoga play for families and children. Classes are available in 8-week series at the Sterling Gym, with a variety of community workshops at local libraries and ongoing practices to selected students at Houghton Elementary School in Sterling, MA and Early Childhood Center (ECC) in Jefferson, MA.
