I attended my first class (Power Vinyasa Yoga) in 2009 at The Yoga Room, and have been hooked ever since! I was initially drawn to yoga for the fitness aspect of it, but I also enjoyed the opportunity to be present on my mat. I practiced in the back corner of the yoga studio for almost a year before realizing that yoga was not about comparing myself to others. I strongly believe that yoga is not about advanced poses, but instead about learning to stay present and connected to your breath. In 2015, I completed my 200hr RYT Holistic Yoga Flow Teacher Training with Daniel Head and Travis Eliot and became Yoga Alliance Certified.
In my beginner class, I create a safe atmosphere where students will learn the benefits of yoga, incorporating basic yoga asana (postures), proper yogic breathing, and will focus on synchronizing breath with movement. In my class, students will awaken their strength, energy, and flexibility in an instructional and fun atmosphere. My intention is to lead students to find the overall benefits of a daily yoga practice in a way that feels completely natural and accessible. I believe that healing is quite simply awareness, acceptance, and letting go into love.
I have also taught elementary education for 20 years, and am currently a third grade teacher.
I will always be a yoga student FIRST. My passion as a life-long learner leads me to seek new yoga understandings and knowledge by taking classes from other yoga instructors across California and beyond.
I teach all levels of Power Vinyasa, Yin, and Children's Yoga Classes. My intention is to lead students to find the overall benefits of a daily yoga practice in a way that feels completely natural and accessible. I believe that healing is quite simply awareness, acceptance, and letting go into love.
I also offer private yoga sessions to work individually with people, including those that are tentative about trying yoga, beginners and some that are managing a medical or some other physical challenge and are looking for a highly customized sequence.
