Lisa Walter (Vidyalata Saraswati) is a certified instructor of Integrative Yoga Therapy, ayurvedic Yoga, and meditation. She is registered as an E-RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance and has over 800 hours of advanced study beyond Yoga teacher training. An Ayurvedic Life-Style Counselor and a Yoga and Ayurveda Health Educator certified through the American Institute of Vedic Studies, she has been practicing meditation and Yoga for over 20 years. She is an initiate in the Himalayan Yoga tradition and a student of Sanskrit.
Lisa completed Advanced Meditation Teacher Training and is a certified meditation instructor through Naturality in Hamilton, Ontario, led by Dr. Pradeep Kumar and Sham Rang Kaur. Prior to this, her meditation, mantra, and tantric training were gained through the Drikung Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism at the Amitabha Foundation (now the White Lotus Society) in Rochester, NY. In the Nyingma lineage, she is a bound, non-monastic, tantric practitioner, and continues to maintain her vows in this tradition.
With degrees in psychology and chemical technology, as well as personal insight from her own study and practice of Yoga, Lisa has found a balance between science and the human spirit. She finds great joy in using her knowledge of Yoga, ayurveda, mantra, meditation, healthy living, and a deep love of nature to help others activate their inborn ability to heal, and to find peace and happiness within themselves.
