Hi, my name is Lizzie and I've practicing yoga for (will 25 years date myself?) - I've been teaching for over 15. I love the Jivamukti method because it reframes the classical practices of yoga as outlined through the ancient texts, in a modern way - as a tool to connect joyfully to yourself and the world. I also have great reverence for the Iyengar method; its alignment and integrated approach to asana and the yoga philosophy, specifically through it's special relationship with Aṣṭāṅga as explained through the Yoga Sutras of Patañjali. I have a BA in philosophy and religious studies; an MA in Communications and Design, and for ten years I have been a Rolfer - a manual therapy that uses Gravity to release tension strains and improve posture and wellbeing.
My biggest teacher, though has been illness and recovery. I had a liver transplant 7 years ago, spinal surgery 2 years ago, and I have an autistic son that reminds me every day, that we create the world from our view of the world. I love yoga and I love connecting with people. Hope you can join class sometime!
