Lucy teaches Vedic chant, Yoga Philosophy and the Sanskrt language. Her teachings bring the depth of these traditions alive in a direct, focused, joyful and simple manner.
Lucy was able to communicate the depths of musical expression from a young age, obtaining a scholarship to the Royal College of Music aged 10. These early experiences in life affected Lucy deeply, leading her to question the reality of this life and prompting her to eventually travel the globe in pursuit of yoga. However the connection with sound was never far away, as she found her experience with yoga open her to explore the expression of the sacred through sound.
The call to prayer drew her to mosques in the Middle East, inspiring her to study Arabic in Damascus and Quran recitation in London and Yemen. Jerusalem infused her soul with wonder, leading her to study Hebrew at SOAS.
However the language with which Lucy has been on the deepest journey is that of Sanskrt, the language of the Yoga Sutras and the Vedas. Lucy has studied Vedic chant extensively with the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram’s senior teachers Menekha Desikichar and Radha Sundararajan. Lucy studies Sanskrt and the yoga sutras with Vladimir Iatsenko, Dr Stephen Thompson and Dr Satyanarayana Sastry.
