I am a Wildlife Ecologist and a Yoga Therapist. For 20+ years I have worked in wildlife research and conservation, and I am the co-founded Animas Biological Studies (). I am still involved with a variety of field studies and conservation efforts in the Southwest, but I am now focused more on Yoga and Yoga Therapy.

My journey on the yogic path began in 2001 while grieving the devastating loss of my mother to cancer a few years earlier. My first yoga class brought an immense sense of peace, a state of being completely lacking in my life at that time, and I was immediately hooked. Over the next several years I navigated through periods of stress, emotional pain, and deep grief, and through dedicated study and consistent practice of yoga and meditation, I healed and transformed my grief. This process ultimately led me to the path of sharing yoga with others. My life was forever changed after completing a residential yoga teacher training program at the Yandara Yoga Institute in 2009, and since that time my home practice has expanded to emphasize Bhakti and Kundalini Yoga, as well as Classical Hatha Yoga. I have taught yoga classes since 2007 and am a proud co-owner of Yogadurango (). I also play and teach harmonium and apply sound energy as a tool for healing in group classes and with private yoga clients.

In 2017, I embarked on a new yogic path, an 800-hr professional training in Yoga Therapy with Inner Peace Yoga Therapy. I will complete my training in September of 2020 and will soon apply for certification with the International Association of Yoga Therapy. My areas of specialty include grief, chronic pain, and neurological disorders. I work one-on-one, applying the tools of yoga to address the individual’s health concerns and empowers my clients to take an active role in their health and wellness.
