Mafalda Mourão’s yoga journey began in 2005 in the mountains of Sintra, Portugal, where she began developing a strong interest in the principles of yoga asana in the tradition of Iyengar yoga. In 2007 her passion to teach overseas led her to Bali, Indonesia – the yoga capital of Asia. This was the place where Mafalda learnt to teach and share her love, passion and experience, helping people to discover the joy and freedom she had found through yoga in her journey. In Indonesia she studied under the world-renowned Anusara certified teacher, Tara Judelle, completing the Anusara 200-Hour Immersion and teacher training.
Mafalda has travelled and lived abroad for many years, studying, practicing and teaching Yoga and meditation, mainly in Indonesia, Egypt, Portugal and the Greek isles, gathering experience, not only as a yoga teacher but also as a yoga operations director.
She combines a calm focus as a meditator and a devotion to the universal principles of alignment to lead her students on a progressive journey towards perceptual awareness through the practice of yoga.
By sharing her knowledge and passion for yoga, Mafalda intends to help and facilitate the students to find and connect with their true selves, following their journey with balance, truth and serenity.
