Magda Torres has been practicing yoga since 2001. Since then, she senses, she has been able develop herself positively on many levels again and again. Today, she wishes to pass her experience on to others.

She has been a certified yoga instructor since 2012. Throughout the years, Magda came in contact with many different yoga styles – Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Iyengar and Jivamukti – that she now passes on to her students as Simply Yoga. Magda’s approach in her own practice and as a teacher is experienced in life, pragmatic and free of judgement and criticism. Her classes are characterised by a healthy sense of humour and a focus on simplicity. Whereas it is also important to her that students don’t follow her blindly: They should explore their bodies and their inside – after all, what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for someone else.

As a yoga teacher, Magda mainly wants one thing: to provide an impetus – for consciousness, personal responsibility and positive change.

Magda ist der Inbegriff einer charakterstarken und ausdrucksvollen Frau, die Stärke, Ausstrahlung, Offenheit und Lebensfreude vermittelt. Sie ist eine sehr erfahrene, motivierende und gewissenhafte Yoga-Lehrerin. Es kommen Ausrichtungen und Haltungen zum Ausdruck, die bei anderen Lehrern nicht vorkommen, die Gestaltung ihrer Yogapraxis ist abwechslungsreich und äußerst durchdacht.

Fortgeschrittene können von Magdas breitem Erfahrungsschatz im höchsten Maße profitieren, ebenso wie Neulinge, da sich bei ihr auch bekannte Yoga-Positionen immer wieder neu erleben lassen.

Sie achtet darauf, was ihre Schüler machen und korrigiert sie nicht nur in technischer Hinsicht, sondern fordert sie auch zur Erkundung eigener Grenzen auf. Das wird mit spürbaren Verbesserungen von Koordination, Kraft und Balance belohnt, darüber hinaus auch mit dem Gewinn an persönlichen Erkenntnissen über sich selbst, seien sie physischer, geistiger oder seelischer Natur. Magda setzt im Unterricht Schwerpunkte hinsichtlich der verschiedenen Körperregionen, so dass die Schüler stets orientiert sind, welche Muskeln von den einzelnen Übungen angesprochen werden. Auch im Alltag kaum beanspruchte Muskelpartien finden dabei konkrete Berücksichtigung. Diese gezielte Herangehensweise ist sehr wertvoll und kann in der Wahrnehmung sowie Empfindung für die eine oder andere positive Überraschung sorgen.

Magda glaubt fest daran, dass der Wunsch, das Beste aus sich selbst herauszuholen, in jedem von uns steckt. Mit ihrer ehrlichen und aufrichtigen Art erinnert sie ihre Schüler an diesen Wunsch, um sie aus der Komfortzone zu locken. Dabei begleitet sie die Kursteilnehmer bedacht durch diesen Prozess und nimmt ihre Verantwortung sehr ernst. Denn Magda möchte, dass ihre Schüler aus dem Unterricht nicht nur körperliche Stärke heraustragen, sondern auch innerlich für die ernsthaften Dinge des Lebens gestärkt werden und die dafür nötige Gelassenheit entwickeln. Dabei schafft es Magda hervorragend, den Spagat zwischen notwendiger Ernsthaftigkeit und der Lockerheit zu halten, ohne dass dabei der Spaß oder die Sinnhaftigkeit am Yoga verloren geht.

Als Schülerin von Magda verpasse ich jedenfalls keine einzige Stunde bei ihr. Denn ich weiß, in ihrem Kurs erwartet mich eine hingebungsvolle und liebevolle Lehrerin, ein hohes und zugleich aufregendes Niveau und ein Erlebnisschatz aus einem großen Sammelsurium an Erfahrung, Wissen und Schönheit um Yoga als schöpfende Kraft und Lebensinhalt weiterhin in meinem Leben zu kultivieren.

Alignment and conscious to go deeper in your practice

I really recommend this class for everyone who is looking to go deeper in their yoga practice. It is all about the alignment of the body in each asana, getting more conscious about how we move, breathe and feel while flowing in movement.

Magda is very professional and serious when it comes to teaching. She knows what she is doing and gives you the trust to try it by yourself.

Sporty and fun Yoga classes

Magda´s classes always have a concept and are very well prepared. Her classes are sometimes challenging and she's always motivating you to try something new. So most of the times you end up being proud or surprised what you and your body are able to :).
Classes with her are never boring she always explains a lot, so you can improve your asanas.

Inspiring and engaging yoga teacher

Magda is a teacher that makes you feel warm and welcome. An inspiring teacher, since the beginning of the class, makes you feel very conscious of the body and spirit. Her classes are always active, challenging and engaging.

In the past year I have been attending Magda's classes I have learnt a lot about my body and yoga basics that are crucial to develop further. She manages to create a very friendly and challenging atmosphere in the class room, where you can, over time, notice your advancement. She values a quiet and concentrated class (e.g. no music) to make sure we are focused and can dully delve into the practice to shut out the outer world. I have learnt a lot in the past and usually do so every class I go to, which makes the classes very enjoyable! Always happy to go back!

Very good classes, calm but tough

Magda is one of the best yoga teachers that I've encountered in Berlin. Especially if you like a physical challenge. She balances her classes between the normal sun salutation poses and usually some special pose, which helps you train for core stability or strength in your arms. She is very experienced, will tell you what (not) to do in a very calm and clear way and sees it when you are trying to make it too easy for yourself. I keep coming for this class!

I was doing my downward facing dog wrong the whole time

Magda corrects your yoga pose and explains very thoroughly how you should do each pose. She's a great teacher to have whether you're a complete beginner or a long-time yogi. In every session, I learn something new and I can feel a big difference in my strength and flexibility afterward.

We are very lucky to have Magda teach yoga in our office every week. She is a skilled and experienced teacher, and puts a lot of thought and effort into creating a challenging class for all different levels of yoga experience. She will make you work up a sweat, and you'll feel amazing after.

Friendly attitude and focus on technique

Magda is friendly and helpful before, during and after class. I really appreciate her emphasis on technique and doing moves properly, which reduces the risk of getting hurt. She's very knowledgeable, which shows in the way she conducts class and also in her abilities to do and maintain various poses. I highly recommend her!

As a complete beginner, I've been working with Magda for a couple of months now and have already felt the benefits her tuition has brought to my body and life. She's a little ray of sunshine coming through the door for every session and afterwards I always feel relaxed, balanced, stretched and calmed. She's very engaging, with a great sense of humour, and listens to what I'm hoping to get from the classes. This is my first experience of yoga, in my 50's, and even after only a few lessons I can feel my core strength improving and far fewer muscular aches and pains. I thoroughly recommend Magda to anyone looking for a fun way to achieve the same benefits.

Fantastic, inspiring yoga teacher

I love taking yoga class with Magda. Each class is thoughtfully prepared and focuses on a different aspect of the practice. She's great at giving options to fit different levels, while still gently pushing you to try harder. I also really appreciate the small corrections and reminders about alignment that not every yoga teacher focuses on. Training with Magda I feel my practice getting stronger and more fluid week by week. It's a joy to be a part of her classes.

My one-on-one classes with Magda have been amazing. She is clear in her explanations and demonstrates step by step adjustments and positions. Love every session with Magda!

Even though it's hard to get up in the morning to go to yoga class, I again and again am so glad I did because starting your day with Magda makes it brighter! She is not only beaming and friendly, but also let's you work out in a way that will not destroy you for the rest of the day. In every class we will focus on another skill or body part. Lots of the exercises are about learning to be more conscious - both physical and spiritual - without being esoteric!

The best Yoga Teacher I trained with so far.

I have been practicing yoga since 2010 with different teachers, and I never really got it. I am not very spiritual and no teacher could put across the actual message of yoga. Training with Magda helped me, to understand not just what my mind can do during her sessions, but also to understand my body right and see what I can do and what I can't, and not get frustrated about it.

We train now for over a year and I have achieved not just (almost) doing my first handstand, but I now do the "oahmmm" at the beginning and end of the class, which took me 6 month to do, because I thought it was "stupid". That's maybe not a great achievement, but for me, understanding why we do certain things in yoga, is more important, than just doing them.
Magda understands to explain and show things, that will help you improve spiritually and physically.
I also really like that each of her classes have different topics, so it never gets boring.
