I got into yoga in 2002 when my body was in a very different state to what it is now. I was racked with pain from old injuries sustained in motorcycle, skiing, surfing, farm and general 'accidents' that sometimes seemed fun at the time. When I went to my first yoga class I couldn't bend forward and touch my toes. Crikey, I was flat out reaching my knees!
After years of practice and training with some great teachers I can honestly say that I'm pain free and today feel 20 years younger than my current age. I wish I started yoga
I'm a certified Intro level 2 Iyengar Yoga teacher with over eight years teaching experience. I'm also a Zen Thai Shiatsu therapist. You can get the best out of your yoga sessions by attending a yoga class with me.
I can relate to you and will assist you to improve whatever it is you want to improve about your health or body. I'll teach you how to correctly stretch and move with safety.
Come and try one of my classes and experience the Iyengar Yoga focus on precision of alignment, use of props, asana sequences, pranayama and containment. You'll quickly appreciate the small class sizes, the non-competitive environment, the detailed instructions and lots of personal attention.
I specialise in teaching yoga to the older folk, although my classes are suitable for all, young, old, in between, beginner to experienced.
All locations have yoga props to assist you to safely position your body in the correct alignment.
If you can't get to my classes all is not lost. I'll come to you at your location for either yourself or a small group in a private class. I'll bring all the props. You'll soon understand what's going on and make steady progress on your yoga journey.
I also offer a mobile Zen Thai Shiatsu therapy service, which is a blend of Zen Shiatsu and Traditional Thai massage and sometimes osteopathic adjustments at my home at Pullenvale or your location if that's more convenient. Please contact me for more information.
