Countless descriptions and metaphors have been used to describe the word "yoga". From my experience as a student, I can relate the practice of yoga to an adventurous journey. The journey of LIFE itself.

I believe that yoga is the fusion of science with art and spirituality. Just like science, yoga is vast and alive. Its practices are like methodical processes that encourage us to experiment, test and review the secrets of the natural world within ourselves. Like art, yoga is endlessly creative and it encourages one’s body to express freely. And just like a philosophy of living, it grants the genuine practitioner an insight of Reality and Truth.

I have practised yoga since 2004 and taught since 2007 and it has become my way of life. To me, yoga instructor is not just a job, but it is a responsibility and a passion. I feel so blessed, grateful and inspired to be a thread in the majestic tapestry of the lineage of yoga. It gives me strength to feel a part of this unbroken transmission of knowledge from teacher to student (Parampara).

I am a certified yoga teacher (RYT 200 since June 2014). I completed my yoga training from Samahita Retreat with Paul Dallaghan, Koh Samui, Thailand. Paul is one of my teachers; he is a senior teacher in Asana and Pranayama.

I have been focusing in the Ashtanga Vinyasa method for the past eight years and I have been practising under the guidance of teachers that come from this lineage. My research brought me to Mysore, India, in 2010, where I spent two months studying at the KPJAYI under Saraswati’s guidance.

Lately I have been experimenting and enhancing the practice of Ashtanga with Yin Yoga, Anusara, Pranayama and Meditation. I keep a daily practice. I am still learning everyday and I believe that, in order to teach a quality yoga class, it is necessary in the first place to nourish your self-practice.

In addition to yoga experience, I have been involved a lot with nutrition, organic food, vegan and vegetarian food. I spent the last seven years in yoga retreats involving in cooking. In my most recent years, I have worked on a food coaching programme, teaching people how to eat and cook in a more healthy way.

You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as Yoga con Manu.

Namaste.
