I have been to several workshops and classes at the Himalayan Institute where Maria Luisa’s has been inspired and trained and it is a blessing to have a part of the Institute in the Dominican Republic where I need to go so far! Other than being a magnificent teacher, she is very active organizing different workshops with inspiring and qualified teachers from abroad. Her 200 teacher training is next on her agenda and everyone interested in deepening their study or becoming teachers should definitely consider the opportunity!

Awesome Yoga Instructor!

Maria Luisa is an awesome Yoga Instructor, I have been searching for the perfect Yoga center that matches my needs for some years now and I must say that to me, I found my perfect fit at Santo Domingo Yoga Sangha with Maria Luisa!

Other Yoga instructors I've had were great too, but somehow didn't match my expectations on other levels, for example I had another great teacher but she was too into theory and I felt like those thing I could research for myself and I was still completely lost while doing the sequences and I couldn't remember the names of the asanas nor could I replicate the sequence later at home, plus I felt that once a week was very little hatha yoga practice. Instead with Maria Luisa, she demonstrates and explains equally so I understand exactly what I am doing and even when I lose focus she makes me look inward and focus on myself. She focuses on the body and the spirit equally and that is why I have chosen those qualities centered in my review. She demonstrates but she is not hands off like other instructors that I've had. She will definitely walk around and make the adjustments so your body is aligned correctly (which sometimes gives the ones that are in a correct position a longer time to hold it). I also like that she will give you references, but it is up to you whether you study those or not, she allows you your freedom to follow your own path and encourages it. She is oriented towards safety but there's a wild side she's not afraid of. Maria Luisa is a perfect combination for any person either beginner, intermediate, advanced, pre-natal or just following a random path on your way to enlightenment!
