Mara Healy

Mara Healy (ERYT-500) has had a focused yoga practice since the winter of 2002.   She is a householder devoted to her husband of 23 years and a mother of three beautiful children. Mara has been learning the Universal Yoga System under the guidance of its founder, Andrey Lappa, since 2005 and is officially certified through Andrey in both Dance of Shiva (Level Two) and Universal Yoga (Level Three).   Mara credits her intensive studies with Andrey Lappa, as expanding her growth in all areas of the eight limb path.  She continues her studies with Andrey whenever he travels to the West and works as his assistant in the USA. Mara has also been granted the blessing of Refuge Initiation into the Karma Kagyu Lineage through Rinpoche Lama Phuntsok, Andrey Lappa’s spiritual teacher in the Himalayas. She has been a dedicated practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism, having taken Bodhisattva vows in 2010 and given the name “Phuntsok Deki” meaning “Perfect Bliss & Joy”. Mara is one of only a few yoga teachers in the United States formally blessed by Andrey Lappa to teach Universal Yoga Workshops, Dance of Shiva and Foundational Teacher Trainings, in the tradition and spirit of authentic Mandala Vinyasa based on Universal Yoga Principles.
