Margot has been studying and teaching yoga since the early 1970s.
Margot has studied at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India, many times with BKS Iyengar, Geeta and Prashant and has been certified most recently by her Guruji at the Senior Intermediate II Level.
She is an assessor for the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada and is a past member of the board.
Over the years Margot has written and produced over 100 television programmes and her series with BKS Iyengar, entitled Iyengar Yoga in the West, received a Canadian Cable Television Award. She also produced two videos with BKS Iyengar – The Art of Teaching, and The Healing Aspects of Asana.
For 15 years Margot conducted classes for students with Multiple Sclerosis and out of that experience she wrote and produced a 60 minute video entitled, Gentle Yoga for the Physically Challenged, which is distributed throughout the world.
Presently she is focussing on retreats, teacher training and teacher certification.
Realizing the importance of contributing to the community, Margot has served on the boards of many charitable organizations across Canada. Her latest commitment was to the Board of Governors of the Banff Centre, Canada’s premier school for the arts, mountain culture and leadership. She served on this board for 9 years and was Chair from 1999 to 2002.
