Maria began her personal yoga journey in the early 1990s and completed her first teacher training in 2009. She has continue to train in many styles, and is influenced by many teachers but her biggest influences in body movement, alignment and anatomy have been Sadie Nardini, Leslie Kaminoff and Tom Myers. She has studied extensively under the guidance of Sadie Nardini in Core Strength Vinyasa and is one of a growing number of Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga teachers. She is currently enrolled in Sadie's CSV Master teacher program which she hopes to complete by 2016.

Maria teaches classes as well as workshops at Princeton University, Fortune 500 companies, yoga studios and has published articles in various online Yoga publications such as and She also has a YouTube channel in which she shares the practice with those she can't reach in person. In 2016 she will begin to offer 200-hour Teacher Trainings. Maria is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and registered through Yoga Alliance (YA).
