I was raised in an athletic family, where fitness and sports were valued heavily. Specifically, I grew up playing competitive soccer and softball. During my college years, I looked into yoga hoping for a good stretch and a way to mellow out from competitive sports, while still maintaining muscle tone. I immediately fell in love with yoga after my first class and wanted to begin teaching it to spread the magic! I received my yoga teaching certificate from CorePower Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. My personal approach on yoga is to receive a healthy yet tough workout. The beauty of yoga is that while you are strengthening your body, you can also strengthen your mind. I also have a teaching certification in Tabata Boot Camp.
I am originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland and I now live in Boulder, Colorado with my husband, Dwight. I love blue crabs, pizza, exercising, laughing, and bulldogs. My name originates from the song, "They Call the Wind Mariah." I have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Salisbury University.
