Mary Leslie Hartman has long been a fitness enthusiast. She began teaching group fitness at the age of 17 and went on to teach aerobics in both Savannah and Atlanta to help pay her way through college. Mary continued on to a 20 year career teaching fitness both in group classes and as a personal trainer. In 2011 Mary discovered yoga and never looked back. After a horse riding accident in 2013 she found Therapeutic Yoga and then Gentle Yoga to be the only thing to help her through the pain of a fractured vertebrae and a ruptured disc and get her on the road to recovery. Through her experience with health issues Mary has found the importance of a healthy diet and loves to pass on her knowledge and experience. Mary is certified 200 hours through The Yoga Alliance Teacher Training and is also a certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer through ACE (American Council on Exercise) and YMCA National Fitness Certification. Mary has enjoyed a long and successful career as a professional artist and when not in the Yoga studio she can usually be found in her art studio or with her family on their farm, photographing, painting or just messing around with their menagerie of furry and feathered friends.
