I believe that offers us the tools and ability to connect within, expand our capacity for healing and joy, and engage in life more fully.
My journey with yoga deepened when I was recovering from melanoma cancer, an amputation of my finger and thrombosis in my arm. My 'some day I will do that' became 'there is no day but today'. My practice transformed my healing process physically, mentally and spiritually. I love being strong and flexible in body and spirit. I am so grateful to be able to share my love for yoga with the world.
My classes will take you on a journey incorporating fluid energizing flow, standing balances, inversions, back bends, hip openers and culminating in stillness and relaxation. Classes are set to music and emphasize mindfulness, proper alignment, breathing, heart, and fun. Options are offered to meet all skill levels. My deep love for myth and storytelling often shows up in class too!
I have special interests in therapeutic yoga and bringing yoga to underserved populations including children, teens and the incarcerated. I have completed trainings with the Yoga Prison Project and the Insight Prison Project. My volunteer yoga experience includes teaching to women in addiction recovery, underprivileged children in Greece, and Coast Redwood Middle School.
