Matt started Yoga when he was five, learning techniques from his mother in order to deal with asthma and allergies. He became dedicated many years later, when life provided the insight that Yoga helps us be ourselves, lose the ‘mask’ and live more freely. He has been teaching Hatha Yoga full time since 1996 and practicing and teaching Chinese Martial Arts, (Shaolin, Tai Ji, Qi Gong and Nei Gong), since 1986. He has worked with most sections in society, including the terminally ill, alcoholics, drug addicts and special needs children and adults. Matt wrote a monthly ‘Yoga and Wellness’ column for Yoga Magazine International and published ‘How to Breathe – a comprehensive course in pranayama practice’ in 2010. His teaching focuses on awareness of the breath and spine, trusting in life, applying the formulas of classical yoga to cleanse, relax and re-enlighten one’s being.
