Meg DeFrancesco Book is a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor living in South Portland, Maine. She draws on her dance training to inform the movement and alignment of the body and borrows from her background in comedy improv to keep her teaching style light and slightly comical- improvising and adapting to her class's individual needs and limitations when they present themselves.
Meg first began practicing yoga in 2001 while living in Western Massachusetts, but it wasn't until almost a decade later that her interest began to deepen when she found yoga as a solace from the fast paced high powered production life she was living in Los Angeles, CA.
Meg has since made a complete life transformation away from the world of comedy performance and tv/film production and has dedicated herself fully to practicing and teaching the yogic lifestyle - the very practice that came to her aid throughout her life when she needed it most.
Yoga is a respite from life's calamities, it quiets the mind, and gives us the tools to take on any challenges in a more observant and less reactive manner.
The lessons we learn on our mat, translate to how we interact with the world around us.
