Melissa teaches to be a part of something, and is driven by authenticity and creativity, combined values that inspire both her Balance & Brews events and her studio classes.
Melissa obtained a 300 hour yoga certification in 2012 through Awaken Yoga School, and immediately began teaching in her hometown of Willoughby, Ohio. She teaches weekly vinyasa and gentle classes. Melissa also leads various workshops and has co-hosted two yoga retreats in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Melissa continues her education by regularly attending workshops and events; in 2014, she completed trainings with Sadie Nardini and workshops with Tiffany Cruikshank.
Melissa brings a mindful teaching style to her events and classes, and is experienced in teaching all-levels groups. With a focus on cultivating awareness and presence, she connects each group through a creative, balanced sequence. A longtime craft beer enthusiast, Melissa spent her first years of teaching incorporating yoga & beer workshops into her studio schedule before founding Balance & Brews, expanding her yoga lifestyle and passion out of the studio.
