I have been practicing yoga for over ten years. In 2008 I moved to the Triangle Area of North Carolina where I began taking regular yoga classes with Dharma Richards and was inspired to deepen my practice by pursuing yoga teacher training. I have completed my 200 and 500 studies with Dharma at Yoga Garden in Apex. I have a special interest in restorative yoga, and have completed trainings in this specialty area at both the NC School of Yoga and with teacher, Judith Hanson Lasater. The yoga I practice and teach is the "classical hatha raja" style in the tradition of Sri Dharma Mittra. Whenever I can, I visit Sri Dharma's center in NYC to study and take classes directly with him. Since 2006 I have also been exploring the benefits of a “raw/live foods” diet and lifestyle, which is also part of the way that I “live my yoga.” Through my own studies and experimentation, I enjoy raw/live food regularly in my home and offer workshops throughout the Triangle. Combining my love of yoga, raw/live foods, and vegetarianism, I have authored a blog called “The Avocado Queen.”
