Connecting to our bodies through movement has been a common theme in Melissa’s life since she began dancing at a very young age. She received her BFA in dance from the University of Utah and then danced professionally in NYC, Monaco and France for 12 years. She returned to the States and turned her focus to helping others achieve balance and wellness in their lives. She set up both pilates and yoga programs for various gyms and studios, teaching classes, managing the studios, providing life coaching, nutritional counseling and private sessions to clients. Her first company, Moving Fit, is an internet company helping clients use mindfulness, movement, and nutrition to lead empowered, healthier and happier lives; her second company, Wholy Raw, creates and sells organic, vegan, gluten and dairy free energy snacks. Melissa has been teaching yoga, pilates and fitness classes for over 20 years and holds certifications through Yoga Alliance, Stott and Polestar pilates and National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is passionate about teaching others how important it is to move our bodies every day, to focus on correct alignment in movement, to eat healthy real food, to practice self-care and to follow our hearts and dreams to create the life we want. She uses yoga as the tool to teach these life skills and as a way to slow down, breathe, connect with ourselves and live our lives with more presence, awareness and integrity.
