I first grew to love yoga when I discovered it as a teenager, thinking I was just getting into an exercise regime that would make me look good! Little did I know it would transform my life.
I was an army-brat growing up, moving around to various states and countries on a yearly basis, but I never felt at home in my own body until I began a regular yoga practice.
After graduating from UT with a Studio Art degree, I decided to stay in Austin and I'm glad I did! In August 2015, I received my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification from the Yoga Yoga studios. I went on to complete an additional 40 hour advanced training in Vinyasa with Mike Matsumura in October 2015.
I also have a day-job at the City of Austin in the great Parks & Recreation Department, and I love it. However, I still keep up with my practice and teaching in my spare time and this keeps my body and mind happy.
Yoga teaches you how to really be present, with your own thoughts and emotions, in your own body, in your own heart. To me, home really is where the heart is.
I would love to show you how this journey of yoga can really change your life for the better.
