Michelle Finch believes in the power of a practice rooted deeply in the fundamentals. She genuinely embraces the notion that an open heart & mind coupled with the alignment of body & breathe can be profoundly healing to the mind, body & spirit of every yoga practitioner. By specially blending her background in Yin, Vinyasa & Ashtanga yogas, she creates a powerful & moving class appropriate for all levels. Michelle’s light hearted approach to teaching along with her unique brand of humor are guaranteed to elevate your spirit and place a lasting smile on your face.
Michelle was first introduced to the practice of yoga in 2003 while attending Nikki Myers’ college-level course at IUPUI. Since that point in time she has been drawn to its multitude of benefits, both on & off the mat. Having personally felt its healing benefits, the rounded practice of yoga has aided Michelle in losing a significant amount of weight, relieving her dis-ease of anxiety & depression, as well as overcoming a personal battle with addiction. After nearly 10 years in corporate human resources, she found herself being called away from the business world & in 2012 made the decision to re-dedicate her life to the path of yoga & has not looked back.
Although Michelle is a registered yoga teacher at the 500 hour level, she believes that one should always seek further wisdom from the teachers that came before her. Therefore, following the path of continued learning, she is humbled to be currently studying with the Insight Yoga Institute under the loving guidance of Sarah & Ty Powers. In addition to her current studies with IYI, Michelle received her 300 hour certification at Absolute Yoga Academy in Koh Samui, Thailand & her 200 hour certification at Cityoga in Indianapolis, Indiana.
When not teaching, Michelle spends her time cycling, traveling, enjoying time with her friends/family, cuddling with her puppy Copper & sharing the beautiful journey of life with her husband, DJ.
