I was introduced to yoga for the first time in my early 20's and tried lots of different styles until I found the practice that worked for me. When I moved to the UK and began to practice Ashtanga Yoga with Helen Aldred in Liverpool, I began to really delve deeper. Helen peaked my interest by introducing me to the Ashtanga Mysore style (or self-practice) approach to yoga practice, there unfolded the yoga journey towards self-discipline.
Moving back to Australia to Byron Bay in 2010 to further my yoga practice, I headed straight for Dena Kingsberg's Ashtanga Yoga shala and was soon introduced to Christian Graham (one of Dena's long-time students), Christian is also an Authorised Level 1 Ashtanga Yoga Teacher. He became my teacher and I still continue practice and study with Christian in his new Yoga studio, The Ashtanga Room, in Byron Bay's Art's + Industry Estate.
During the time spent in Dena's Yoga Shala, Michelle was very lucky to be introduced to the inspiring couple, Nick + Radha Bradley, with whom she would intermittently practice Akhanda Yoga with in their Byron Bay yoga studio. Michelle completed their in-depth Akhanda Yoga Australia 200hr Teacher Training Level 1, 2 + Akhanda Flow in November 2015. The Akhanda style is a wonderful, holistic aprroach to teaching traditonal Hatha Yoga.
