A lifelong Yoga practicioner, Natanya’s first Yoga teacher was her grandmother who taught her pranayama and Yoga in her parents living room when she was 6 years old. Inspired by her grandmother’s yogic lifestyle and philosophy, Natanya, an actor and director who trained in Paris, Poland, India, & Northern California, created, produced and performed hOMAge, a play inspired by her grandmother’s writings. Before producing the show for festivals in New York City, Natanya felt compelled to become a Yoga instructor, to better tell her grandmother’s story, and to train her actors. In 2013, Natanya received her Yoga & Meditation Teaching Certification through Blooming Lotus Yoga in Thailand, and has since taught Yoga & Meditation in Thailand, Bali, and New York City. A classroom educator with over 15 years of experience teaching students of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels, Ms. Silverman not only teaches Yoga, Meditation, Mantras, and Ayurveda, but also facilitates theater workshops, infusing the theater creation process with yogic principles of mindfulness, moving with the breath, and flexibility, as well as exercises that connect participants in a safe space of creative, heart-centered expression. A Reiki Master, Ms. Silverman believes in Yoga as a dynamic practice for purifying, healing, and connecting the mind and body.
