My intro to yoga began with Astanga Yoga. I maintained a regular practice for many years and I still return to it now, in my own practice, for inspiration. Nowadays I tend towards a less intense vinyasa flow practice and like to incorporate hatha and restorative yoga techniques to help with releasing and restoring the body's natural balance.
I am very interested in the role of the chakras in the body's overall sense of wellbeing and include this awareness in my teaching. I love the connection of breath and movement from vinyasa, the transition being as important as each asana, making the practice almost like a dance. All classes have a meditative quality, quietening the mind so as to be truly present.
