I first experienced yoga whilst studying contemporary dance in my late teens. My practice became more regular in my early 20s practicing Iyengar and Ashtanga. I became to realise whilst pursuing a competitive career in design and advertising, that my yoga wasn't simply a hobby, it was my inspiration and my medicine. It was then I knew my purpose was to share my knowledge with others.
I specialise in beginner to intermediate classes and my teaching style is mindfully active whilst being accessible for all bodies. I combine slow flow, static postures with a focus on alignment, partner work, pranayama and yoga nidra.
I also offer Yin Yoga, which is the perfect compliment to an active yang yoga or gym practice. Yin calms and balances mind and body with mindful breathing and poses that are held for longer periods of time. The practice benefits include allowing fascia or connective tissue release, promoting flexibility, greater joint mobility, increased circulation, whilst clearing any energetic stagnation in the body.
I have been teaching for almost 2 years, and currently offer private yoga, corporate lunch-time courses with the Victorian state government and outdoor yoga during summer.
As a marketing professional with a background in advertising I endeavour to provide a mindful practice that is inclusive and provides an approachable and inclusive space for busy people to ease physical and mental tensions.
