Nicole DiBenedetto got her first taste of yoga and meditation over 14 years ago through a Stress Management course she took at her college, The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. As an aspiring artist, she immediately noticed how the practice calmed her despite her heavy workload and helped her to find her creative flow. Yoga, however, did not become part of Nicole's daily routine until after she received her BFA and entered the high-pressured field of Graphic Design. The more stressful her job became, the more dedicated she got to her yoga practice. After over 4 years of practicing Vinyasa and Bikram yoga, Nicole decided to take the next step and get certified as a yoga instructor. In 2009, she received her 200 hours of training in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga through YogaFit. After a year of teaching, Nicole took a leap of faith and let go of her full time job in the art industry to see what she could offer the world through the practice of yoga. Since then, she has taught over 1000 hours worth of classes, qualifying her as an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher). She has continued her education by taking teacher training courses at Integral Yoga Institute, Jivamukti Yoga, Pure Yoga, and YogaWorks in NYC, including workshops under the instruction of world-renowned yoga teacher, Seane Corn. She furthered her certifications by taking a full 85 hour Prenatal Yoga training at the Integral Yoga Institute to become a RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) as well as getting certified through several Children's Yoga Programs.
Today, Nicole is the founder of The Yoga Nook yoga practice in Staten Island, NY where she offers general yoga classes (gentle to advance levels) as well as focuses on growing families including classes in Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Mommy & Me Yoga and Kid's Yoga.
She is also an instructor at the South Shore YMCA in Staten Island; teaches at the annual Fall YMCA Women's Wellness Retreat in Huguenot, NY; heads the Kid's Yoga Program at The Foresight School in Heartland Village, Staten Island; and heads the Kid's Yoga Program at FasTracKids summer camp in Old Town, Staten Island.
