Becoming a yoga teacher was not a career move I could have foreseen ten years ago, but nothing gives me a fire in my belly that could burn brighter. The learning, practice and study are never-ending, and our time on the mat studying yoga give us such a unique opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we approach challenges.

A lifelong lover of learning, I've come through careers in nursing (adult and mental health), a PhD in English Literature and Philosophy, and then into a teaching career with school and university students.

My approach to teaching is warm, humorous and down to earth. I pass on both the physical and emotional strengthening benefits of having a regular yoga practice. The most important aspect of my teaching is my belief in treating everyone as an individual. When you come to class, I encourage you to make the yoga work for your particular body and needs.

Fantastic, warm and encouraging teacher

Nicole has run classes at the university this year, and has been an absolutely incredible teacher. Her gentle, kind, and positive attitude has really helped new students to feel welcome in a yoga class, and to help more experienced students to continue to build on and understand their practice. I will be sad to leave the university this year, but hope that future students continue to appreciate Nicole's fabulous teaching.

The essence of great teaching

I cannot say enough about Nicole's energy, intelligence, kind spirit, and ability to inspire her students at every level of their practice. Her passion for yoga and her depth of knowledge illuminate every class she teaches. In every yoga class I take with Nicole, I learn something new -- about myself, my practice, and / or the discipline of Ashtanga yoga in general. Nicole is a gem of a teacher.

Nicole is an amazing teacher, incredibly hands on, nurturing and inspiring while guiding us through a physical and spiritual process, my practise is gaining in strength and stamina but most important to me is the feeling of connectivity she creates within the class and to the mat, I feel incredibly lucky to have found her.

Fab teacher & person

I stumbled across Nicole New Flame Yoga a year ago knowing very little about yoga and nothing about Ashtanga yoga. I am now officially hooked. Her teaching style is warm and friendly and yet challenging enough for her to get the best out of her students. She takes great care to know her students well and make time to address their individual physical and mental needs whatever their abilities on the mat. Her knowledge, patience and passion are incredible making each class a learning experience.

Nicole is a natural teacher, with a true passion and deep knowledge of yoga. She teaches Ashtanga led classes and has patience with everyone of her students, working with each one to develop their individual practice. She focuses on the breath, bandhas, and each asana in a safe and appropriate way, providing adjustments and advise from the start to end of class.

It was a joy to practice yoga with Nicole. She assesses the person's body and ability and gives the right instruction to each person. Her class is vigorous and peaceful. Nicole has a deep knowledge of muscle and body coordination, and gives precise instructions. I felt I could get the most of Ashtanga yoga, no matter how I felt on the day. Nicole makes you feel safe and focused. It was a privilege to attend her lessons.

Restorative Yoga

I can't recommend this teacher enough. I have struggled with ill health for many years and have found her sessions to be extremely beneficial to my recovery. Her style and approach is friendly, informative and sensitive and her knowledge of yoga is extensive. Top notch! Spiritually and physically satisfying.

Amazing teacher!

Nicole is a brilliant teacher who has introduced me to the Astanga Primary series and helped me go from not even being able to touch my toes in September to being able to keep up with a 3 hour intensive class with relative(!) ease a year later. She is approachable and friendly and gets to know each one of her students individually always know where you are in your practice. She challenges to do more but is always mindful of everyone's strengths and weaknesses and works hard to keep everyone safe and fully adjusted. I've loved every single one of her classes and am incredibly grateful to her for introducing me to yoga :)

A fist class teacher

Nicole is an extremely intelligent and experienced yoga teacher. Immersed in the Astanga tradition she has trained with some of the most acclaimed teachers in the world. She has the knowledge and understanding to adjust her teaching stile to accommodate the needs of students with different experience and ability.
