"TEACH WHAT IS INSIDE YOU, NOT AS IT APPLIES TO YOU, BUT AS IT APPLIES TO THE OTHER" Sri T Krishnamacharya
I've lost count of how many yoga classes I've taught in 20 years, each one is a unique exchange of prana between teacher and student. Some students have been taking my classes or privates for several years with visible change. I believe this is mostly due to the techniques developed for modern yoga by the audacious renovator scholar and healer, Sri T Krishnamacharya who adapted these ancient techniques for healing from his extordinary study with the Naths at Mt Kalosh.
He called this Vinyasakrama yoga, it is based in the energy of the breath that cleanses the body and harnesses the mind for healing and longevity.
I learned the vinyasakrama yoga from Srivatsa Ramaswami a student of Krishnamacharya' for 33 years. Through this linage I have had the privilage to teach for Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri a realized kryia yoga monk.
I own a yoga studio in Houston, TX, where I mostly teach one on one classes applying these time tested techniques. Ive witnessed the veritable surgical scalpel of the breath become the ultimate tool that inspires and heals my students. Ive also come to understand that using all the limbs of yoga brings avenues of wellness to fit any situation.
It is quite phenomenal.
SUCCESS IN ASANA IS NOT MEASURED BY ASANA ITSELF BUT TO THE DEGREE TO WHICH IT FACILITATES PRANAYAMA.
