I love yoga and what it has done for me - and I love to share what I've learnt with others!
My teaching aims to have students find their sweet spot between effort and ease, and the version of the pose that offers the most benefit for you, for where you are - today.
I trained in classical Hatha and prior to that I was a student of Iyengar yoga for several years. Along with those styles, my teaching is also informed by my own history of injury recovery, and my ongoing learning, both in traditional yoga and in contemporary movement research.
In classes we explore poses and sequences, sometimes looking for freedom of movement, sometimes a better individual alignment, sometimes the strengthening possibilities of the pose. If you're looking for greater range of motion, strengthening, injury recovery, maintaining general fitness, relaxation, or the many mental and emotional benefits, I believe yoga has something for you.
Over the years I've taught yoga to university performing arts students, theatre groups and at music festivals. Currently I'm teaching classes in Raglan and Hamilton.
I'm also available for private coaching for individuals or small groups.
