About the Instructor:
Phaedra’s yoga journey began 25 years ago when she was studying as a pre-physical therapy major at Shepherd University. Since then she has dedicated herself to the study and teaching of yoga, training in Integrative Yoga therapy (combining alternative healing therapies and yoga), as well as Yatra, Vinyasa and Kriya yoga. Phaedra learned from such yoga masters as –Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee, Rod Stryker, Tias Little, Brian Kest, Gary Kraftsow, Desikachar, as well as inititations into Kriya Yoga (Hariharinanda lineage) and Transcendental Meditation ( Maharishi lineage), and is a Level 1 Usui Reiki Method healer. Phaedra is studying the Self Realizationship lessons (Paramahansa Yogananda lineage). Phaedra has over ten years’ experience as a yoga instructor and has been an Instructor of Yoga at Clemson University for six years. She also teaches a Meditation and Relaxation class at Clemson. During this time she also volunteered and worked as assistant yoga instructor for OLLI with Marie Joseph-Dudsic, who combines Kriya, Ashtanga and a Zen style of yoga. Phaedra is certified in Vinyasa yoga through Asheville Yoga Center. She is just completed an 11 month immersion working on her Yatra Yoga certification with Allison Lindquist at 90 Degrees Yoga in Greenville, This program qualifies Phaedra for the RYT 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification. Phaedra blends her skills in her classes, and blends her extraordinary expertise with a quiet patience and concern for each student, all of which combine to make her a popular and successful teacher.
