The first time I practiced yoga was as a young girl, curiously trying to emulate my mother in downward-facing dog. I took my first yoga class in my early teens while studying dance, drama, and movement arts in high school.
Since then, I’ve studied around the world with several gifted yogis from the Hatha lineage. Having seen how it has transformed my own life, I am committed to sharing the gift of yoga with others. I hold a RYT 200-hour certification from Maya Yoga Studio, which is a fusion of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga styles.
As a yoga teacher, I am attentive and inquisitive, encouraging students to explore their thresholds in order to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. My classes focus on cultivating breath awareness while building strength, increasing flexibility, and releasing tension.
Combining fluid movement, meditation, and play, these sessions are an avenue for personal exploration while maintaining safe and appropriate principles of alignment. I support my students in developing a regular yoga practice, so that those qualities cultivated on the mat, such as awareness, balance, and letting go, permeate into all aspects of your life. My classes will leave you feeling open, energized, and centered.
