Rachael stumbled upon Baptiste Yoga on a friend's recommendation in December 2002 when she moved down the street from the flagship studio in Cambridge, MA. As a former competitive swimmer, she was sure that her “high intensity” lifestyle and yoga would not mesh. From her first moments on the yoga mat, she instantly changed her mind. She was inspired, intrigued and excited about the strength and happiness she was cultivating both physically and mentally.
Rachael has been teaching across the Boston area since 2007. The impact of her own experience from her yoga practice was the catalyst for her to leave her former career of 10 years as a Scientist to teach yoga full time. With a degree in Biology from Clark University, she is fascinated by the intersection between science and yoga.
Rachael has completed Level One, Two and Three Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste, and regularly works with and assists Baron at trainings and programs nationally and internationally. For 5 years she was the manager of the Certification Department for the Baptiste Institute, working extensively to create and manage the certification program and coach teachers who aspire to become certified in the Baptiste style. She currently continues to work as a teacher development coach. Her favorite workshops to teach are Yoga for Runners and recently Yoga for Cyclists- sharing how yoga can support athletes to love their sport and stay healthy for a lifetime. She has also developed Corporate Yoga Wellness and Prenatal Yoga programs.
Rachael always teaches with a smile. Her classes, rooted in Baptiste methodology, offer simple and concrete tools to access a deeply physical experience that will challenge your perspective of your world off of your mat. Above all, the profound presence of the yoga community keeps her connected to her ever-evolving journey of keeping it real and feeling good. She is endlessly grateful to all of her teachers and mentors who continue to guide her along the way.
