Ram Vakkalanka is a Yoga philosopher, Sanskrit expert, Meditation instructor, Sitar artist and Kirtan leader, belonging to the spiritual lineage of Dattatreya and musical lineage of the world renowned Sitar Maestro Ravi Shankar.
Based in Toronto, Canada, Ram travels thru Canada, US, Mexico, Bahamas, India, Thailand, Bali, Cambodia, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg sharing his knowledge of Yoga philosophy, Sanskrit, Kirtan and Nada Yoga, thru workshops at Yoga studios, Yoga festivals, Retreat centers as well as on one-on-one coaching. So far, thirteen CDs and one DVD of Ram's works have been released in various areas of his expertise.
Ram’s articles on Yoga philosophy are published in print and online publications. His talks on philosophy, Sanskrit and Nada Yoga are broadcast on web TV channels as well as TV networks all over north America. Well-known personalities in the Yoga world such as Yogini Kali Ray (founder of Tri Yoga) and Datta Yogi Raja highly commend Ram’s works.
Ram conducted workshops at many Yoga studios and Retreat centres such as Sivananda Ashram (Toronto, Val Morin and Bahamas), Yoga Vidya (Germany), All Yoga Bali, Vikasa Yoga (Thailand), Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Toronto, Yoga Mala (Regina), Datta Retreat Center on a variety of topics including Sanskrit, Yoga Sutras, Bhagavadgita, Vedanta, Meditation, Kirtan, Tantra, Mudras and Pranayama.
Currently, Ram has students in Canada, US and Brazil. Many yogis/yoginis, corporate executives, doctors, healing arts practitioners study Sanskrit, Yoga philosophy, Kirtan, Sitar and Harmonium with Ram.
