A model yoga and a true inspiration

Ram Vakkalanka has been a true inspiration to our students and teacher trainees for several years now. His very presence is an example of a life well-lived in yoga. Kind, cheerful, polite and with good humour, he quotes Sanskrit from memory and translates its precise meaning. Ram brings to life the ancient texts of the Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika with contemporary understanding that applies in today’s world.

more

He broadens students perspective enabling them to take their yoga beyond the mat and, at the same time, to deepen their experience while on it.

All questions are answered without hesitation and in a calm, assured manner. Whether he’s teaching mudra, chakra meditation, Nada yoga or yoga philosophy, conducting a puja, or playing sitar or harmonium, he is always at a high level and very engaging. We consider him indispensable to our center. He is also the perfect guest while staying at our home. We’re blessed to call him a friend.
