Raquel begins practicing hatha yoga and meditation in Brazil in 2000 and in the same year, she started to travel and explore other lands, especially with “a need to find herself”. At first, she went to United States and Canada and kept her yogic practices there.
In Montreal, Canada, from 2004 to 2006 she finished her first yoga teacher training in Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. This was (and still is)a very powerful, purifying and transformative experience. Her practice and teachings are until the present time influenced a lot also on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan and the Kundalini yoga tradition.
Around 2007 she moved to Italy and started teaching yoga and meditation full-time in many yoga centers in Milan while she was exploring and getting more knowledge in also others types of yoga such as ashtanga vinyasa and vinyasa, Iyengar style and classical hatha yoga: all beautiful, valid experiences, that certainly enriches her practice and teachings until the present time.
She realized, though, that deep in her heart, that she still hasn´t find her Master and path. But in 2009, her heart found such a fulfillment when she read “Autobiography of a yogi” by Paramhansa Yogananda, and started learning and practicing Kriya Yoga meditation and style of life.
She was initiated in more advanced kriya yoga meditation techniques in 2010 for the first time, which she keeps deepening every day since then.
In 2012, she also went to India for a month immersion in the sadhana (yoga and meditation practices) and finished a Hatha and Raja Yoga teacher training in Dharamsala, close to the Himalayans mountains.
In 2014 she met Master Roy Eugene Davis, a direct disciple of Yogananda who also initiate her and ordained her to initiate other devotees of Truth and the Divine into Kriya Yoga. She founded, then, “Prema Kriya Yoga”, a strong and powerful sadhana (spiritual practice) which includes the energizations exercises, pranayamas (control and expansion of prana or vital energy), hatha yoga, kundalini yoga, mantra, kirtan (devotional chantings), relaxation, meditation and satsang (study and yoga philosophy): all of them together prepararing for the Kriya Yoga meditation and path as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda.
She participates yearly to kriya retreats at Kriya Yoga Stella and Ananda community in Italy.
Now she lives between Brazil at Praia do Rosa, Santa Catarina and Italy (mostly Milan), where she organizes yoga and meditation groups along with workshops and spiritual retreats in Brazil, Europe and around the world.
It is an immense honor to her to have the chance to practice and share this sacred science such as Yoga. And she feels a deep gratefulness to everyone (Masters, colleagues, students, friends and family) who helped (and still help) her to know and deepen this path of Truth.
She feels yoga in general, and particularly Bhakti devotional chanting , kundalini mantras repetition (jap), kriya yoga meditation and path as the strongest tools for purifying and healing body, mind and energy, making you have a deep connection with the soul, with the Infinity and in the Divine, making you realize the Self, and in every way (from the subtle to the material), recognizing and expressing our True Nature and our Divine Creative Being.
