Rebecca González, International Yoga Teacher, discovered meditation and yoga in 2011 and since then has dedicated her life to sharing what she has learned with others. She studied and taught yoga and meditation in various places such as California, Thailand, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, and now Nicaragua. She has been living in Nicaragua since January 2014, leads yoga teacher trainings and various workshops, teaches at yoga conferences in both Nicaragua and United States, and regularly leads yoga retreats. She has become recognized as a Meditation Specialist, which she attributes to have come from her own daily meditation practice.
Rebecca has been the resident Yoga Instructor and Wellness Director for Yemaya Island Hideaway & Spa since April 2014. She is an advocate for and specializes in preparing raw plant-based foods. She has helped pioneer the Wellness Program at Yemaya and strongly believes that meditation, yoga, and nutrition are the foundations that promote health and well-being.
Rebecca was formally trained in the Sivananda Yoga tradition, and regularly attends 10-day silent Vipassana meditation courses. Months away from a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition, she encompasses healthy and holistic living both on and off the mat. Through these holistic mediums, she is able to inspire others on their wellness journey. Rebecca is Nicaraguan-American and in her free-time she loves to experience the world and visit her family near Managua.
