My name is Ryu, and I'm from Malaysia. I was a professional Latin dancer since year 2003, and actively took part in many international Latin dance championships. In 2005, I injured my hamstring and could not straighten my legs, or walk properly. Just when I thought that it was the end of the world, someone advised me to try yoga. From that day onwards, there was no turning back, I fell in love with yoga, and practiced 6 hours daily. Three months later, my hamstring recovered and the pain was gone.
Yoga has helped me to stimulate my strength, tone up my muscles, improve my flexibility, to stay calm and focused. I love to practice meditation as it keeps my mind clear and stress-free.
Never did I realized that it was only the beginning of my yoga journey. Soon after, my yoga instructor recommended me to enroll myself in the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training course. It has now been 9 years since I have taught in the yoga and fitness industry in Malaysia and Singapore. Besides yoga, I have completed a Diploma of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture aiming to help those with medical conditions or injuries.
Yoga is not related to your religion. It is for everyone. We can practice together, have fun together, and spread our passion for yoga to everyone.
