I am a Bloomington native and graduate of Indiana University. My husband and I share an adventuresome spirit and a zest for wandering and have lived in nine cities across the country. Along the way, we have added a beautiful daughter and awesome dog to our family and recently realized a long time dream of coming home and setting down roots in Bloomington.

Although introduced to yoga over a decade ago, it wasn’t until 2007, when I discovered Power Yoga, that my practice deepened. Having never been an athlete, it was the quieting of my chattering mind that initially drew me to practice. I began my yoga studies the following year, slowly working towards certification. A move to Denver in 2009 led to the discovery of CorePower, where I was instantly drawn to the welcoming, supportive and challenging environment. It was gratitude for my practice and a desire to share with others that called me to finish my certification. I received my 200 Hour Power Vinyasa Certification in the Spring of 2011. In the time since, my practice and studies have deepened significantly and supported me through grief, stress, change and the shear joy life brings. Currently, I am working toward my 500 Hour Certification.

I believe yoga is a powerful vehicle for both mental and physical transformation which manifest in different ways for each individual. As a teacher I work to hold a safe and encouraging environment for students to explore what yoga means in their lives.

Incredible Instructor

Samantha is a wonderful yoga instructor. She is challenging but keeps you coming back to the simple beauty of yoga. She is very encouraging, kind, creative and has a great presence. She will make you feel safe and welcome in her classes. Go see Sam!

I started going to yoga to try to heal a few nagging injuries. Little did I know, that not only would I heal physically, but a change would occur in my mind, also. Sam always expresses a positive observation at the start of class that recurs in my thoughts throughout the day. Sam's classes flow seamlessly and she walks us through postures gracefully. She encourages students to try new things, but only when ready. I use to think that I needed to be the strongest or fastest in my exercise classes. I now try to focus only on me and what I need to do to get the most out of my practice, because of the way Sam teaches her classes. I look forward to the hour a day I spend on my mat and would highly recommend Samantha's classes.

Fabulous Instructor

I've had the pleasure of taking class with Sam several times a week for a little over a year now. Her calm presence, creative flows, and thought provoking dharma talk always make me leave class feeling more grounded--both physically and mentally. As an instructor myself I always struggle with how much to talk, and I truly admire how Sam always seems to find the perfect balance of saying just the right things and just the right times. I highly recommend her class!
