Samita was initiated into yoga by Sri Desikachar, son of Sri Krishnamacharya.
She is a personal student of Sri Desikachar.
Samita teaches yoga in the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya-the father of modern yoga.
T. Krishnamacharya’s central principle was "Teach what is inside you, not as it applies to you, but as it applies to the other."

Samita is ‘An All India Topper recognized by the Dept of Education, MHRD, Government Of India. An internationally recognized yoga teacher with distinction from various other reputed institutes and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, in Science of Living, Preksha Meditation and Yoga. She also holds a Post Graduate diploma in Counselling Psychology.
Initiated and studied Yoga with Sri Desikachar, son of Sri Krishnamacharya.
Exposed to various philosophies under masters like Sri Desikachar & his daughter Mekhala , The Dalai Lama(Buddhism), Ven Sangye Khadro-Buddhism, Acharya Mahaprajna-Jainism and Sri Ramaswami Srivatsa. Her application of a one to one approach has appealed to many from various backgrounds. Her prime focus is to teach and help people heal from physical, mental and emotional stress. Conferred the title of Yoga Acharya with distinction/All India Topper /Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist/ Master’s in Science of Living, Preksha Meditation and Yoga/ PG diploma in Counselling Psychology. She has had experience in fields such as the corporate sector, advertising, film, theatre and acting. Having had the diversified exposure, she is able to connect and understand the needs of the students almost instantly.

Samita is one of a small group of professional women cartoonists and writers, publishing for numerous publications over the last decade. Her media experiences have been varied. With an avid interest in Ayurveda (interned with Vaidya Bhagwan Dash) & an ardent animal lover.
