Sandy was born in Florida and spent many years in Asia as a child. While studying at the University of Florida, she took her first yoga class to supplement her dance training and was immediately hooked! She was bendy from years of dance but not strong. Yoga helped Sandy build a strong core, strong arms and a strong mind!
During her time as a professional dancer/cheerleader and certified group fitness instructor, she was on a mission to share yoga. She taught hatha yoga at a corporate fitness job and to fellow dancers until she went back to school and became a registered nurse and joined the Navy Reserves Nurse Corp.
Sandy continued to practice yoga over the years but missed teaching and connecting with students.
Sandy completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training at Vista Yoga and registered through Yoga Alliance. With Sandy’s vast knowledge of the human body, she encourages students to respect what their bodies can do that particular day. She likes to teach classes that are fluid while offering hands-on adjustments.
