I started practicing yoga because I wanted some peace and calm in my life. I began in 2007 at NC State University, practicing the Hatha style of Yoga. In 2008, I started at Red Elephant Yoga, practicing the Scaravelli style under Charlotte Ranz.

Practicing at Red Elephant Yoga really opened my eyes to many different aspects of Yoga including breathing, meditation and the Chakra system. As my practice advanced, I wanted to learn more about the philosophy and principles of yoga. So I decided to join Nina Be's program at MindBody Centering Yoga. Her program was based on the Ashtanga style. As part of our curriculum we also learned about the Chakra system and Restorative Yoga. After 8 months, I became certified to teach at the 200-hour level.

I really enjoyed the Restorative part of my training. To see the peace that came over people, how they relaxed and let go and how I did the same as I practiced it, I knew it was what I wanted to teach. I really enjoy helping students relax, breath and find some calm in their busy lives.
