We met at the ashram where we studied Yoga and came to England to live, teach and learn. Akhil is currently completing his studies as a massage therapist while I'm (Sara) taking a break from formal training and instead focusing on self-teaching and reading ancient and modern texts on Yoga. Please call 07792143296 should you be interested in any of our classes, workshops or retreats or email us at Our website
Here is some more info about us:
We firstly studied Sivananda Yoga in Kerala under Mahadev Chatainya and then I continued Akhanda Yoga with Yogrishi Vishvketu, in Rishikesh.
Although I learnt yoga as a child, I started my journey towards self-improvement for myself, when I took up Shoalin Kung Fu and Tai Chi 13 years ago.
I am also a Level 3 personal trainer with five years experience, accredited with the YMCA and have since worked in London’s top gyms - from the more spit and saw dust weights gyms to high-end venues such as Matt Roberts Personal Training. I'm also a trained youth worker and community worker and continue to teach children in schools and after school clubs.
We feel the greatest teaching we have gained, beyond technical knowledge of the human body, has been discovering how to bring joy to learning. In Yoga, one's attitude is paramount to feeling the true benefit of the discipline. Improving your focus and mood, is after all truly what it means to be healthy.
Akhil's immersion in the culture of Yoga, not just through his own upbringing in Kerala, India, but in the rituals and practices he seeks when he visits his family each year, shines through in his teaching. It is Akhil who will suggest to visit specific ashrams or embark on Vipassana (silent 10 day meditation) or learn Yoga Nidra and so on. In that way he enriches us both and those we have the privilege to teach.
We also run yoga retreats in selected locations, each activity and accommodation hand-picked by us after extensive research.
