“You must be the change you want to see in the world.” -Muhatma Gandhi
Yoga is a way for people to connect with each other, their community, nature, and themselves. It is a practice that empowers people and enables them to spread compassion and love while experiencing personal growth and a spiritual journey and off the mat.
I started practicing yoga over 17 years ago. I went different directions in the health and fitness industry getting my personal training, kickboxing and group fitness certifications and teaching and creating a variety of programs to help people improve their mental and physical health through movement, exercise, and nutrition. Over the past few years I decide to deepen my own yoga practice and get my 200 hr certification. When doing so I realized my desire to continue to help and teach others and continue the journey of holistic health. Traveling and living outside the US, especially living in Europe, I also realized the need for quality yoga teachers.
Classes range from restorative and relaxing to powerful and strengthening. I like to incorporate several styles of yoga, pranayama and meditation to create a unique flow. My classes are inspired by the many teachers I've been able to learn from around the world and I like to make them creative and enjoyable with a focus on breath and leaving the student feeling enlivened and renewed. I challenge students to be kind and honest with their limitations while also nourishing the hidden strengths they have to reach beyond their perceived limitations, never feeling judged. And to have fun!
I am from the United States and completed my teaching certifications in Thailand and Bali. I've taught in the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia. I also offer charity classes as a small way to give back to the communities that are so gracious to me and continue to inspire my travels. (certified Yoga Alliance & European Yoga Alliance instructor)
