Sarah is a trained chef with extensive experience in catering, hospital kitchens and hotel cooking. She is also a trained youthworker, counsellor and primary school teacher.
She discovered the power of Yoga after suffering with an eating disorder in her early teens and 20s. Experiencing chronic debilitation, Yoga helped her to learn how to work to heal her mind. Still fearful of food she became interested in Ayurveda and her life changed. Working with both Yoga and Ayurveda has healed her illness.
Believing whole heartedly in the power of Yoga with Ayurveda Sarah underwent extensive research into the connection of Yoga and Ayurveda and was successful in developing Australia's first nationally accredited training course Diploma of Ayurveda Yoga Teaching (10579NAT). She was also successful in obtaining recognition for the course with Yoga Australia.
It was through this work Sarah was offered a scholarship with SreeChithra AyurHome Kerala. This extended her learning and she now incorporates traditional Ayurvedic practices into her work with others.
Sarah has also been guest speaker with Organic and Natural Supershow, Vegecarian Festival, Axedale Health Expo and Body, Mind and Spirit Festival.
Today Sarah runs regular yoga classes, is a practising Ayurvedic Consultant, is the Principal of the Diploma of Ayurveda Yoga Teaching. She also provides workshops on cooking for young people and works voluntarily with EARTH (Education and Responsibility Towards Health) to promote complementary Health Care in Bendigo.
