My teaching is inspired by the various styles of yoga I have practised since 2004, mainly Astanga, Iyengar, Sivananda, Vinyasa Flow, and Scaravelli. It is also informed by my studies in Somatics as part of a Masters degree in contemporary dance, interest in Experential Anatomy, philosophy, and experience as a professional dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
I completed my teacher training with Yogacampus, an organisation renowned for its non-dogmatic approach and quality of teaching. I am grateful to count as my main teacher Susanne Lahusen and to have learned or carry on learning from various other teachers including Liz Lark, Alaric Newcombe, Anna Ashby, Alessandra Peccorella, Julie Martin, and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. Other key influences include a visit at the Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Centre in Trivandrum, India, and intensive training in ISHTA yoga (Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra & Ayurveda) with Alan Finger and Katrina Repka.
My classes are measuredly paced, prioritising good alignment, quality of breath, and mindfulness. I like to promote the benefits of a flowing practice as much as the importance of safety and attention to detail.
